Animals are not particles: a framework for second generation hetero-swarm robotics
This project uses recent advances in collective animal behaviour research to provide a framework for implementing a second generation of ‘hetero-swarm’ robotics. Our goal is to determine how social structure and social roles modify and improve collective behaviour in real animal groups, taking inspiration from nature to engineer better artificial swarm systems.
